01 · The setup
Snitch started in Bengaluru in 2019 as an online-only menswear brand for Gen Z and young millennials — an audience that finds clothes on Reels, not in magazines, and that is quick to spot anything staged.
02 · The playbook
The brand built its influence around nano and micro creators through a “Snitch Squad” programme, spreading the same budget across hundreds of small accounts who styled the clothes in everyday settings. It posted at high frequency, leaned on trending audio and humour, and turned store launches and collection drops into creator-led on-ground events with micro creators and local artists.
03 · Why it worked
Hundreds of authentic styling videos from relatable creators outperform one polished campaign for this audience, because the clothes are shown on real people in real rooms. Speed mattered too: a creator squad can react to a trend in days, which a traditional campaign cannot.
04 · Where it landed
Snitch grew from a start-up to one of India’s most-watched fashion D2C brands, expanded into physical stores, and is frequently cited as a model of creator-led growth in Indian fashion.
The Oye take · what this means for India
A squad beats a face. Give a hundred nano creators in Surat, Ludhiana and Coimbatore the drop a day early and let them style it their way — that is a launch, not an ad.
